Pickled Mango

When Teacher Koong brought green mangos from her hometown in the South, they were popular for only those who love sour taste. To sweeten the mangos while teaching the kids home economics outside the kitchen of the Pattaya Orphanage, the teacher showed her charges how to preserve the fruits. The children helped peel, wash, and cut the mangos into small pieces under close supervision.. Pieces of mango were dipped in salted water for three days and followed by dipping in syrup for another day. Everyone enjoyed the picked mango very much..
