1st Healthy Kids Program

Teachers of Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized the first Healthy Kids Program in front of the school, with four stations, i.e. Dental Care, Hand Wash, Good Foods, and Lice Free, during which the students actively participated and learned with fun about the significance of good health in their daily living..

1st Parents’ Meeting

Sotpattana School for the Deaf organised the first meeting of parents for the new academic year 2017/2018 on Friday 9th June 2017 at the multi-purpose hall of the Pattaya Orphanage. During the opening session, Acting Licensee and Manager – Rev. Michael Weera Phangrak – welcomed the 40 participants and gave them encouragement as well as viewpoints on kids with special needs. Director Angkana Kamnerdtone then shared with the parents the background of the School and introduced her professional teaching personnel and staff, followed by the introduction of Teachers Anirut Chaicharoen and Sirigun Kojaengklang on our early childhood curriculum, academic requirements, extra-curricular activities, and the care of the students’ hearing aids. It was a great opportunity for the participants to get to know one another for future collaboration and mutual support.

English for Preschoolers

The new academic year 2017/2018 for preschool kids of the Pattaya Orphanage has begun over two weeks ago.. For their English classes, Teachers Geri Greenwood from Scotland, Vanessa Lawless from Australia, Hannah Heichen and Christian Frick from Germany, Zoe Sun from China, and Amatuallah Kyriacou from England are helping them learn the language, especially useful vocabulary for daily living, with fun..

Volunteers from France

For about 10 weeks, Ms. Tiffany Mary and Ms. Margaux Roi from La Rochelle Business School, France, have committed themselves to help out at the Pattaya Orphanage. They introduce French language and culture to children who are preparing to be adopted by French-speaking couples. Our volunteers also keep our small kids and a disabled member of our home company. On the feast day of St. Silvio, the patron saint of our Most Reverend Siripong Charatsri, Bishop of the Diocese of Chanthaburi, representatives of the Pattaya Orphanage and Sotpattana School for the Deaf gladly visited him and wished him a very Happy Feast Day..

First Week at School

Thirty-five out of the registered forty-two students have shown up in the first week of academic year 2017 of Sotpattana School for the Deaf.  Among the 11 new kids this year, some are yet to arrive from other provinces, while a 3-year-old from the Pattaya Orphanage is settling in as a boarder.

New School Year 2017

At the start of the new academic year 2017, fifty children of the Pattaya Orphanage go to 21 different educational institutions in Thailand.  Of this number, 10 kids take in-house early childhood education, 15 are in 13 different boarding schools, and the remaining 25, including young Fuse and Hope, are day students at seven schools in and around Pattaya.

Partying

The extended Panaram Family from Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Bangkok, hosted a special Chinese-style meal for members of the Pattaya Orphanage on the occasion of the 53rd wedding anniversary of Mr. Kobkit and his wife Boonruang.. We took this opportunity to congratulate our children and staff members whose birthday anniversaries fall between February and May, welcome Sr. Maneerat Chotiphon back to our home for her new mission, and thank the Maryvit Educational Institution and Rue Mai Restaurant for their constant support to our children.. Lychee Shake

Thanks to Mother Joan of Arc Phayao Thavornvong for sending lovely lychees all the way from Chiang Rai to the Orphanage, members of our home very much enjoyed the juicy fruits.. A group of kids under Teacher Koong’s supervision took this opportunity to learn about making lychee shake.. The refreshing drink was shared with the elders of our home and the young cooks happily received many thumbs-up signs in return..

Welcoming New Sister

Members of the Pattaya Orphanage, led by Mother Superior Sr. Supattra Nonthasuwan, gladly welcomed Sr. Maneerat Chotiphon, for her third assignment at our home.. On this occasion, the party from Mary Vitthaya School Kabinburi, led by Sr. Phanida Suksamran, School Director, accompanied Sr. Noi to our home and donated education fund towards children in our care..
