Merry Christmas Pattaya Orphanage

Annual Christmas Party 2011

Approx. 500 people are at the annual Christmas Party of the Pattaya Orphanage and Sotpattana School for the Deaf, held on 25th December 2011. While about 10 older kids in universities are not able to join us this year, we have some 120 deaf and orphaned children, 52 former residents, 300 guests and neighbours, including children from the Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC), in attendance. Two giant inflated bouncy castles kept the children busy whenever they were not on the stage or the 14 food stalls. Rev Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak, our executive director, presided over the opening of the party by lighting the stage, followed by 55 shots of fireworks, and our kids’ carol singing to wish their benefactors near and far a peaceful and joyful Season. Mr. Richard E. Smith of the Pattaya City Expats Club, Ms. Saowanee Phanaram, and Mrs. Alessandra Pellati Brunnelli took this opportunity to present their supporting fund to the Orphanage. In between the three stage performances from three children groups, each of the orphans received a big box/bag of presents from Fr. Michael, Fr. Francis Xavier Kritsada, and some guests of honor including Sr. Joan Gormley of the Fountain of Life Center, Santa Bob Bisiqhini, and Khun Elfi Seitz of the Pattaya Mail. A lot of food and beverages were available for self-service. We sincerely appreciate all kindhearted benefactors and sponsors for contributing gifts and prizes, a number of them through Khun Toy of HHNFT, making the evening memorable in the hearts of all our children. Khop khun maak khrap/kha! Season’s Greetings and abundant blessings from the Lord.
